The Woman Who Gave Everything
I had to say goodbye to an incredible woman this week – my mom. A lifelong math teacher, she shared her love of learning with generations of students, but her greatest joy came from being “Mom” and “Grammy.” No words can truly capture who she was or what she meant to me and to everyone who knew her.
As a single mom, she raised my sister and me on a tight teacher salary, making countless sacrifices so we could have opportunities she never had. Everything I am today is because of her strength, her love, and the example she set for me growing up.
She cherished her times watching her grandkids excel in academics, sports, and life. She thrived on making sure memories were scrapbooked and always putting her family first.
I miss you already, “Mommers” and I know both Anika and Andrew will miss their “Grammy.” As the cliche goes, “She is in a better place now.”, but deep down I want to be selfish and give her one last hug and thank her for always being there through my struggles.
She touched so many lives, and I know her impact will live on through her students, her family, and all who loved her. Thank you for being the best mom. 🤍
As she would always leave every conversation, “Love you – Bye Bye!”
